Services
Civil Rights and Racial Equity Audits
Ms. Khera conducts civil rights audits – also known as racial equity audits — which are comprehensive reviews of a company’s policies, practices, products and services and their discriminatory impact. A civil rights audit can strengthen a company by preparing it for any potential legal, public relations or regulatory risks and by ensuring it is meeting its commitment to equity and nondiscrimination.
Assessments
Ms. Khera conducts assessments on discrete issues – for example, a company seeks guidance on how to prevent any discriminatory impact in the development of a new product or service, or how to develop proper policies, practices or systems to prevent any discriminatory impact in its operations or services.
Independent Monitoring
With her legal, policy and executive management experience, Ms. Khera is an effective independent monitor for consent decrees, legal settlements, and other compliance matters. She can evaluate legal compliance, as well as provide guidance on developing and adhering to standards that go beyond legal compliance to meeting an organization’s commitment to equity and fairness.
What is a Civil Rights Audit?
Shareholders and other stakeholders are increasingly urging companies to conduct civil rights or racial equity audits. Led by independent civil rights experts like Ms. Khera, a civil rights audit can strengthen a company by preparing it for any potential legal, public relations or regulatory risks and by ensuring it is meeting its organizational commitments to equity and nondiscrimination.
